Sea-level-rise Exploration and Assessment Tool (SEA Tool)

The EPA Sea-level-rise Exploration and Assessment (SEA) Tool is intended to provide an intuitive interface for the sea-level-rise data included in the 2022 NOAA technical report. A series of simple selections produces maps, graphics and statistics that allow the user to understand:

  1. the timing of future sea-level-rise impacts at a site;
  2. the interaction of sea-level rise, tides and storm surge;
  3. the relationship between global and local mean sea-level changes; and
  4. the probability of exceeding global mean sea level in 2100 based on a series of Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs) representing alternative plausible trajectories of 21st century development.

The tool is also designed to highlight the range of projections without suggesting that there is a single “correct” solution to the question of sea-level rise futures.

Conduct a screening level assessment of the impact of sea-level rise, tides and storm surge at a site.

Explore the report's data by year and view and download GIS layers to conduct your own site-level analysis.
